2. What information we collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the CompliMentor service.
Information you provide directly:
- Your name, email address, and password when you create an account
- Your college or organisation name and year of study or profession
- Compliments you write and next step suggestions you provide
- Mentor or mentee requests and associated messages
- Profile information including bio and profile photo if you choose to add them
Information collected automatically:
- Your IP address and device type for security purposes
- Date and time of your activity on the platform
- Pages visited and features used within the app
Information from third parties:
- If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. We do not receive your Google password.
3. How we use your information
- To create and manage your CompliMentor account
- To display compliments you send and receive on the platform feed
- To calculate and display your CompliScore
- To match you with suitable mentors based on your profile information
- To issue and display verified awards on your profile
- To send you important platform notifications and updates
- To improve the platform based on how it is used
- To comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations
4. What we never do with your data
We will never sell your personal data to any third party. We will never share individual user data with advertisers. We will never use your data to make automated decisions that affect you without your knowledge. CompliMentor products are ad-free and data-sale-free permanently.
5. Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which is built on PostgreSQL and hosted on servers in Singapore (closest region to India). Supabase is SOC 2 compliant and uses industry-standard encryption for data at rest and in transit.
We use row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own private data. Your password is never stored in plain text.
6. Data sharing
We share your data only in these limited circumstances:
- With other users: Compliments you send are visible to the recipient and on the public feed. Your name and CompliScore are visible on your public profile.
- With service providers: We use Supabase for database hosting and FlutterFlow for app infrastructure. These providers process data only on our behalf and under strict confidentiality obligations.
- With colleges or companies (only with your consent): If your institution is a verified CompliMentor partner, they may see your awards and CompliScore only after you explicitly opt in.
- When required by law: We will disclose data if required by Indian law or a valid legal order.
7. Your rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: You can view all your data on your profile page at any time
- Correction: You can edit your profile information at any time
- Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing hello@thecomplimentor.com
- Export: You can request a copy of your data in a readable format
- Objection: You can object to certain types of data processing

8. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. You cannot opt out of essential cookies as they are required for the platform to function.
9. Children and minors
CompliMentor is intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately at hello@thecomplimentor.com and we will delete the account promptly.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform grows. We will notify users of significant changes via email and by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of CompliMentor after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
